METHODOLOGY OF AL SEERAT UN NABWIYA BY IBN HISHAAM: AN ANALYTICAL STUDY

Studying the Seerah gives Muslims insights into the Prophet’s ﷺ character, his teachings, and the context in which the Quran was revealed. Seerah al-Nabawiyyah as a practical aspact of Islam has always been compelled muslim scholarship throughout the history to deal subject scientifically. Ibn Hisham is the one of the early biographer who compiled the biography of the Messemger of Allah (pbuh) from the bettals and stories narrated by Ibn e Ishaq. This article mainly discuss the methodology of Ibn Hisham in his work by maping the intellectual landscape of the time by introducing his academic activities. It is also examined the sources of Ibn Hisham in his work and strategies he adopted in his compilation. It is further introduces the works on Seerah Ibn Hisham.
